Canterbury Tales can be a difficult book to read and enjoy. Not only that, some of it is not exactly PG rated. Barbara Cohen’s illustrated Canterbury Tales is a beautiful rendition of four of the original stories: the Nun’s Priest’s Tale, the Pardoner’s Tale, the Wife of Bath’s Tale, and the Franklin’s Tale.  The author has a lovely balance between telling the original stories and making them appropriate for children. With Trina Schart Hyman’s amazing illustrations, this book is a thing of beauty.
